Newcastle United Tuesday night at St James Park settled for a 1-1 draw in their game against Manchester City.
It was Sergio Aguero that scored the opening goal of the game but the host forced their way back to earn a share of the spoils as the Premier League clash ended in a 1-1 draw.
Aguero who single-handedly wrecked Chelsea with a hat trick last weekend continued from where he stopped as he found the back of the net in the 14th minute to register is 100th Premier League goal for City.
Incidentally, replays showed that the striker was in an offside position when the delivery arrived from the left
That nonetheless Newcastle United responded with an equalizer from Vurnon Anita just after half-hour mark.
With both teams needing wins for different reasons, Newcastle and City pressed on for another goal which never came till the blast of the final whistle.
The result meant that Newcastle stay in 19th spot-one point off 18th-place Sunderland and two behind Norwich in 17th while City also stay 3rd on the log on 61 points – five points above fifth-place Manchester United, who now have a game in hand.
