Former Kenya national team Harambee Stars head coach Adel Amrouche has been named the new USM Alger head coach, his first job since parting ways with Kenya two years ago.
Adel agreed to a two year contract with the team after agreeing terms with club Director Rebbou Rebbouh Haddad to return to his nation and the club he played for in the early 90’s.
Amrouche takes over from coach Miloud Hamdi who led the team to the final of the CAF Champions League last season as well as win the league for the seventh time in the history of the club.
Adel had an incredible run with the Kenyan National team from February 2013 through to August 2014 when he was released after Kenya failed to go past Lesotho in a 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
In just his first game in charge in late March 2016, he was within minutes of leading Kenya to a first ever win over Nigeria in a 2014 World Cup qualifier played at the Esuene Stadium. Nigeria however equalized in added time to tie the game 1-1.
