Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has emphasized that his future remains at Vincente Calderon, playing down speculation linking him with the vacant Argentina managerial seat.
Atletico Madrid President has confirmed the club has received an offer from the AFA for Diego Simeone to take over once Gerardo Martino’s reign comes to an end.
However, when questioned on the speculation, Simeone insisted that he is not looking to leave Madrid.
“My place is at Atletico Madrid,” Simeone told Record.
The 45-year-old, who has also been linked with Inter Milan, represented Atletico as a player on two separate occasions and has been in charge at the Vicente Calderon since 2011.
Argentina have made an approach for Diego Simeone to become the new coach of the national team, Atletico Madrid’s president has confirmed.
Diego Simeone is widely regarded as one of the best managers in world football having guided Atletico to the Liga title in 2014, as well as success in the Europa League, the Super Cup and the Copa del Rey.
