The new date for the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is not yet set ten weeks after the initial date set from the FKF Annual General Meeting (AGM) elapsed and aspirants are getting impatient at the silence from the board charged with the elections.
The polls have been postponed seven times already and leading contestant Nick Mwendwa has dug in on the matter, blaming the Elections Board for the delay as the aspirants go into the new year without a date for the polls.
Only the sub branch elections were held save for three which have to be repeated owing to irregularities that led to appeals. That has since been sorted out and Mwendwa wants a date set for the polls.
“The elections board has really let us down with these polls and especially so far this year because we expected that after the appeal board made the ruling on the sub branches with irregularities things would have moved with speed but that has not happened so far.
“By now we should have had a date for the elections already and have things move forward ahead of the new football season. A lot have stalled because of the elections and it is in the best interest of all stakeholders that we get a date soon,” he said.
