Jose Mourinho has charged his Manchester United squad to aim for the title, and not just a top four finish, according to the Daily Mail.
The Red Devils have a 100% start to the season under Mourinho, as they bid to return to Champions League football next season and possibly win their first Premier League title in three years and the Portuguese has already told his players about the set target.
“Jose sat the players down and told them he was totally satisfied with his squad,” the Daily Mail quoted a United source.
“He said he wasn’t looking to get any of them out of the door and that he wasn’t desperate to sign anybody else either.
“His message was pretty clear. Jose doesn’t think this is about getting United back into the top four, it’s about winning the league. He wants the players to believe that.”
United have suffered three underwhelming seasons since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, even though they did win the FA Cup last season under Louis van Gaal.
Mourinho is however looking at making a bigger impression at Old Trafford, and win United’s first League title since 2013.
