After being banished to the club’s reserve side by the Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho, Bastian Schweinsteiger has sent a message to the Reds fans.
The German is training with United’s reserves after being discarded from Mourinho’s 25-man pre-season squad.
Wearing his United training kit, the German who is believed to be contemplating a future away from Old Trafford following his omission by Mourinho took to social media and said:
“Hi guys, thank you very much for the birthday wishes and the positive comments I received about the national team career, I feel very honoured.
“I hope we’re gonna see each other soon. Bye.”
He has been linked with a return to Bayern Munich but appeared upbeat as he addressed United’s supporters following his 32nd birthday on Monday, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Reports say United are open to selling Schweinsteiger who has been linked with a return to Bayern Munich despite appearing upbeat as he addressed United’s supporters following his 32nd birthday.
Despite suggestions he could still be on honeymoon with his wife Ana Ivanovic, Schweinsteiger reported for training last Thursday with the rest of the United squad but was not among the 23 fit first-teamers training under Mourinho and his staff.
