Jose Mourinho is not smiling much this season but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp took time in his press conference to joke about the Chelsea boss being a “nice guy” to people who are not referees or journalists.
Mourinho’s continued comments on referee’s have landed him in trouble waters with the Football Association a handful of times and despite the Portuguese criticising the German coach during his time at Dortmund for talking too much ahead of the team’s Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid, he believes Mourinho is a nice guy.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash against the Blues, Klopp told reporters: “I’m full of respect for [Mourinho’s] work. If you’re not a journalist or a referee he can be a nice guy. I’m neither of those.
“He’s a nice guy. He is emotional. I am emotional, but we are professional enough to know after the final whistle normal life starts again. That’s what we did. Everything is okay between us, no problem.”
Klopp will be hoping for his first Premier League win since he joined Liverpool.
