Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has confirmed that both Loic Remy and Pedro will miss Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Dynamo Kyiv, but has insisted that the their issues are not major.
Chelsea face Ukraine champions Dynamo Kyiv as they look the bounce back from their defeat to Porto
Pedro and Loic Remy have little injuries, nothing serious but not worth taking a risk.” MOurinho said in his post pre-match conference.
Chelsea are currently in third place in Group G following their loss to Porto, with the Portuguese side and tomorrow night’s opponents both ahead of them with four points.
Following the Blues’ 2-0 win over Aston Villa, Mourinho will be hoping that his side can put a run of form together with a win in tomorrow night’s important fixture.
Pedro started ahead of Eden Hazard at the weekend but the Belgian will likely return to his starting place on the left-wing in the Spaniard’s absence.
Poor form and lingering concerns over the 24-year-old’s defensive commitment led to his omission but he is expected to make a return to the side tomorrow. Last season, Hazard scored three goals in the Champions League.
Remy’s absence changes little for Chelsea as Diego Costa is fit and is likely to start, especially since Radamel Falcao isn’t favoured either.
