Ajax Cape Town have underlined the value they place on Tashreeq Morris by agreeing to a four year contract extension with the young marksman.
Morris was the Urban Warriors’ top goal-scorer with nine goals in the 2014/ 2015 campaign. His season ended on a tragic note however when a knee injury in the 1-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final put the player out of action for around eight months, the energetic front-man only expected back early next year.
In the interim though the club has moved to secure the 21-year-old’s future, Morris set to extend his stay to 2019 after originally joining the club’s youth setup in 2005.
“It’s a good feeling knowing that I’ll be at Ajax for even longer now,” Morris told the club’s official website.
“This club has helped me a lot from a very young age and I’m doing what I can to repay the faith everyone at the club has shown in me. I want to thank the management at the club for this opportunity to renew my contract once again.
“The last two seasons have been a blessing for me. I know that I’ll have many more great seasons with the club,” he said.
