Free State Stars accepted bids from Orlando Pirates and the Brazilians, before Lucky Mohomi selected the PSL champions.
“I don’t think I moved too early. I felt it was time to move. I learned a lot during my first season. I quickly adjusted to the style and pressures in the PSL,” Mohomi told The Sowetan.
“So I think I will continue from where I left off at Stars,” he said.
Mohomi will replace outgoing Bongani Zungu who joins Portuguese club, Vitoria Guimaraes.
“I know competition will be high at Sundowns. The reason I signed is because I am not scared of challenges. I will make my mark,” Mohomi stressed.
“There are quality players and I will work hard. I am sure I will improve more than Zungu did under Pitso’s guidance.”
“It was difficult to choose Sundowns over Pirates because every player wants to play in the Soweto derby,” he disclosed.
“My mom wanted me to go to Pirates, but we decided that this is where I should go,” Mohomi concluded.
