Ajax Cape Town confirmed on their official site that Abbubaker Mobara and Tashreeq Morris will spend a week on trial with Ajax Amsterdam.
The two players have been in good form this season, and were tipped for greater things for South Africa in future. It’s not surprise that Ajax’s parent club is taking interest, as is the advantage of Cape Town and Amsterdam being in partnership.
The Cape Town club officially released the following statement:
Head coach Roger De Sa will also be accompanying our two talented young players to De Toekomst. De Sa will rub shoulders with his counterpart, Frank De Boer to observe some of the methods used at Ajax Amsterdam. De Sa has been in charge of Ajax CT for the past two seasons, securing a Top 5 finish at the end of the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season, while also reaching the 2014/15 Nedbank Cup finals and winning the 2015/16 MTN8 trophy.
In recent times, Rivaldo Coetzee, Brandon Petersen and Yagan Sasman have spent some time training with Frank De Boer at Ajax Amsterdam, where they were highly rated and have been continuously monitored, as they progress further in their careers.
Players to have made the big transfer from Ajax Cape Town to Ajax Amsterdam in the past include Steven Pienaar, Daylon Claasen, Eyong Enoh and most recently Thulani Serero.
The club wishes Abbubaker Mobara and Tashreeq Morris all of the best with their journey of travelling abroad and making their dream of playing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs a reality.
