Newly signed AFC Leopards coach, Belgian Yves Ivan Minnaert has set his targets at fighting for the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title in 2016 but ahead of his first match in charge he stated that he will need a lot of help from his predecessor Jan Koops.
The coach, joining from Rwandan side, Rayon Sport, says he has had limited time with the players in training thus unaware of their abilities as well as the Kenyan league.
He reiterated the club management’s stance that the team will be going for the KPL title and ahead of his touchline debut, a game against Bandari FC on Wednesday 2 March, he is expecting a tough challenge.
“I have had a very a short time with the players, and I will use the help of coach Koops because he is well versed with the players as well as the other aspects of the Kenyan league.
“Like I said before, the main aim this year is to fight for the KPL title. I know that this will be a difficult match because I hear Bandari are a very strong team,” the Belgian said.
The winner in the game will join Mathare United at the summit of the KPL log.
