Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has declared that he is not in any way surprised by the fine form of his compatriot Odion Ighalo who has been hugging the headlines in the EPL with his goal scoring run with new boys Watford.
Mikel made the submission about Ighalo just before the clash at Stamford Bridge and he revealed that his interaction with the former Granada striker particularly on national team duties shows the Watford danger man as a talented striker.
“I am not surprised Odion Ighalo is doing what he is doing. I have chatted with him and played with him in the national team and I can see the talent he has, and even before I have the ball in those games he is already making his run. Mikel told his club’s official website:
“He is a player who likes to exploit the space behind” the 28-year old added.
Before the Boxing Day clash against Chelsea, Ighalo has scored 12 goals in 17 Premier League games this season.
