Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has claimed that Argentine Lionel Messi will not leave Barcelona.
The 29-year-old was teammate to Messi during his spell with the Catalan side from 2011-14 and had seen enough to name the now blonde looking star the best in the world.
“Messi is the best in the world without any doubt,” Fabregas told Cadena COPE.
“I think the club are the only club in the world who can take care of Messi. They have done so in recent years.
“They have always taken care of him. It’s the best club for him.”
Messi is currently sidelined by a groin injury for the next three weeks and Fabregas revealed he had spoken to the five-time Ballon D’Or winner after the setback.
“Today I have not spoken to Messi. Yesterday, I asked him how he was and he was well. It’s a pity,” he said. “He will recover soon.”
However, Messi was moved by the get well message from next week’s UEFA Champions League opponents Borussia Monchengladbach.
“Many thanks to Borussia Monchengladbach for their message of support! A really nice gesture from the club,” he wrote on his instagram page.
“Of course I would also like to thank everyone who has sent me their best wishes. I now have to rest for a few days before coming back even stronger. Hugs to everyone.”
