Defenders Jonathan Mensah and Isaac Vorsah were back in action for their clubs in European football this weekend.
Mensah’s Evian won 4-0 against Valenciennes in Ligue 2 on Friday. Vorsah played in the second half for Liefering, a welcome return after two years out.
In central defense Mensah played the full game, and could return to the Ghana national team reckoning, especially with their World Cup qualifier against Comoros coming up on November 13 and 17.
Mensah was only out for the long term due to a four-month Fifa ban starting in October. He upheld a charge by former club Udinese, because he signed for Evian while still being contracted to his former side.
Vorsah’s Liefering thrashed Floridsdorfer AC 5-1 in the Austrian second division. His career has been hit by injuries but he’s still 27 years old. That saw him miss out on the 2014 Fifa World Cup and the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
