Having missed the 2-0 league win over Maritburg United last Friday night, Black Aces striker Collins Mbesuma will be raring to go for the Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash against SuperSport United.
The match is the first of the 2016 Nedbank Cup last eight, and takes place at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday, 22 April, 20H00 kick off.
Mbesuma is the PSL’s leading marksman this season, with 13 goals in the Absa Premiership.
Aces coach Muhsin Ertugral admits he is hungry to succeed in the Nedbank Cup, and says that it was for this reason that Mbesuma never appeared in Pietermaritzburg, the Turk explaining that he was allowing his top marksman some time to recuperate.
“He needs to relax a bit. Collins had played two international games and immediately the next game for us and the Chiefs game, so he was a bit tired,” Ertugral said.
“We have a very important game [against SuperSport] and we want to achieve the semi-finals; we are not running around the bush. If we achieve it, it will be a different story. So it was an important time for him (to rest),” he added.
