The Mathare United head coach Stanley Okumbi has tendered his resignation from the 2008 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions after a troubled 2015 season.
Mathare United once again failed to secure a top flight finish and though Okumbi says he has no regrets, his team will be judged to have performed well below par.
He says the agreement he had with the club’s chairman Mr. Bob Munro was that he will be in charge until the season ends. He wished the team the best in their coming assignments.
“The agreement I had with the chairman was that I stay in charge of the team until the end of the 2015 season which I did. Now I am stepping down and I want to wish the team all the best as I give a serious consideration to my future.
“I have no regrets whatsoever; I think with the players available for me, we did well,” he said.
