Bafana Bafana’s preparations for their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cameroon had already started without PSL leaders Mamelodi Sundowns players.
However coach Shakes Mashaba remained optimistic despite the absence of Asavela Mbekile, Hlompho Kekana and Themba Zwane in the camp.
“Almost all the players are in camp already except for the Sundowns players who will join us today,” Mashaba told Goal.com
“It’s not the first time that players arrive late. You know we get players from different teams who play in different places at different times.
“That’s why they arrive at different times.
“This used to happen even when I was not here but we are happy that we will have the players in camp today,” Mashaba concluded to Goal.
South Africa take on Cameroon away from home on Saturday, before the return leg on Tuesday.
