Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins has said he has ready shifted his focus to the fresh challenge waiting for him in China after completing the switch from his former MLS side Seattle Sounders to join big spenders Shanghai Shenhua.
Martins in an emotional message to Sounders fans thanked them for their support during his stay in God’s Own Country; but he was also quick to state that he was looking forward to the next phase in his career.
“For me it’s now time for a new challenge. After significant reflection I have decided to join Shanghai Greenland Shenhua of the CSL.” Martins declared.
The former Levante and Inter Milan forward however remains emotionally connected to Sounders as demonstrated in his heart felt tribute.

“Seattle will always have a special place in my heart.”
Martins has already been pictured in South Korea, where Shenhua are preparing for the new season.
