France manager Didier Deschamps is excited with the form of Manchester United new kid on the block Anthony Martial and surprised how well he has adapted to life at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old become the most expensive teenager in the world after the Red Devils paid £36m for his services and he has repaid that trust with four goals in six games.
The initial fear was that the youngster could struggle to justify the huge fee in securing his service from AS Monaco but after he has hit the ground running and Deschamps is left absolutely delighted with his red-hot form.
“He has the potential. Everybody is surprised by what he is doing at United but that’s good for him and good for us. He deserves to be here,”Deschamps told reporters.
“It was anything but easy after everything that has been written and said about him. It has silenced a few people. He’s young, he may have more complicated times. He’s able to make great things happen. He did in Monaco.
“He’s doing it now in a club at another level so it is easier to pay attention to his performances. He’s always been talented though.”
Manchester United are currently top of the Premier League log with 16 points, three ahead of Sunday’s opponent Arsenal.
