Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed the availability of midfielder Ander Herrera for Wednesday’s game against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
The Spanish star missed the 1-0 victory that relegated Aston Villa on Saturday after picking up a knock in the FA Cup win against West Ham United.
But, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Adnan Januzaj and Luke Shaw remain sidelined as Louis van Gaal confirmed to MUTV: “[We have] no injury problems, only the players who are injured already for a long time – Schweinsteiger, Shaw and Januzaj. I think Herrera shall come back.”
Louis van Gaal was asked in the press conference for the game on Wednesday if Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Everton would impact on his selection for the match, he said: “Of course, but that is the same with every game.
“You know that you have to play matches and you know also that some players have difficulties with the load of matches. You have to rotate because of that.
“In the Premier League I have to rotate much more than in another league, and that is also a consequence of the high rhythm of the Premier League.”
Manchester United have not lost any of the 13 previous Premier League matches against Palace, earning 10 wins and three draws in a run that stretches back to September 1992.
Crystal Palace who are 16th on the log are unbeaten in four straight matches in April which included a heart lifting draw against Arsenal at the weekend.
However, their recent 1-0 win against Norwich City remains their only top-flight victory in 2016.
