Sami Nasri got the winning goal for Manchester City in their 2-1 comeback victory over West Brom on Saturday at the Etihad.
It was West Brom who took a shock lead at the Etihad through Stephane Sessegnon, who struck a firm effort past City goalkeeper Joe Hart after just five minutes.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men kept their cool and they were level 13 minutes later – Aleksandar Kolarov was fouled in the penalty area, and Sergio Aguero stepped up to finish from the spot.
City were frustrated by Tony Pulis’ visiting Baggies, and Pellegrini brought on Yaya Toure and Kevin De Bruyne to change things.
The hosts then took the lead as Nasri – making his first start in almost seven months – followed up Aguero’s blocked shot to calmly slot in from close range after 66 minutes.
The victory leaves the Citizens five points clear of Slaven Bilic’s Hammers with six games to play, while Pellegrini’s side are now just two points behind third-placed Arsenal.
Unfortunately for City, their win on Saturday was marred by an injury blow for their Argentine striker, Sergio Aguero who was make his double century appearance for the club.
It is yet to be seen if he would be back on time for the crucial Champions League clash at home against PSG . The first leg in Paris had ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
