Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Frank Makua is impressed with newly called up Bafana player Sifiso Hlanti.
The 25-year-old played well against Cameroon on Tuesday evening.
“Hlanti has shown some potential though he is not yet in the level of Tsepo Masilela but I think with time he can get there,” Makua told Goal.com
“I know Chiefs have made a lot of mistakes in signing players over the last few seasons but I think this boy has the talent and will be a good player with time.
“The fact that he is even playing for Bafana Bafana shows that he has the potential.
“As for Keagan Ritchie, I do not think he deserved to come back to Chiefs because never made any meaningful contribution to the club.
“Levy Mokgothu was never really been given a chance having shown so much potential while on the books of Moroka Swallows.”
So, Makua is hoping the club can target the likes of Hlanti in future. At the moment he plays for Bidvest Wits who are doing better in the PSL. Kaizer Chiefs have their own problems.
“A lot of players are ageing in the Chiefs squad.
“There is a need to bring fresh legs – from the defence up to the striking department.
“Both Tsepo and Siboniso Gaxa have lost a big amount of pace and have not performed as we know of them.
“At the heart of defence there is only Eric Mathoho and Lorenzo Gordinho while the rest have struggled to settle down.
