David Luiz’s agent has revealed the Paris Saint-Germain defender is expected to be sidelined for a month after suffering a knee injury while on international duty.
Luiz was replaced by PSG team-mate Marquinhos after suffering a left knee injury during the 2-0 defeat to Chile on Friday.
“The doctor of the Seleçao reckons it’ll be four weeks before David can return to training,” the defender’s representative told Le Parisien newspaper.
The player has left the Brazil squad to return to France where he will undergo further medical examinations to determine the exact nature of the injury.
Should the four-week lay-off be confirmed, the former SL Benfica and Chelsea FC man will miss PSG’s UEFA Champions League double-header with Real Madrid CF.
