Lt. Col. Erick Oloo has been confirmed elevated to the post of chairmanship at Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Ulinzi Stars after former chairman Jume Shee Mwinyikai left for advanced military training.
Oloo served as Mwinyikai’s deputy in the past five years and the club revealed in a post on its official website that Major Joel Birgen, who was serving as the Officer in Charge (OIC) will be elevated to the vice chairman’s post.
He will occupy the position held by Oloo before the elevation and his previous position will be held by Captain Godwin Baraza who gets elevated as well with the new appointments taking effect immediately.
Upon his new appointment Major Birgen said: “It is a new challenge, higher expectation and definitely an opportunity to serve the club in a bigger capacity. I am pleased with the promotion and hopefully we continue with our aim of taking this team to the highest heights possible,”

Ulinzi Stars would like to announce some changes in the club’s leadership, after the promotion of Lt. Col. Erick Oloo to the post of club chairman, taking over Col Mwinyikai’s place.
Immediate former Officer in Charge (OIC) Major Joel Birgen has been promoted to the post of vice chairman, taking on Lt. Col Oloo’s previous post.
Captain Godwin Baraza will be the new OIC, taking on Major Birgen’s post, all with immediate effect.
