Liverpool’s main target during the January Transfer Window, Alex Teixeira is close to becoming the marquee signing in the Chinese league.
A £38million has been agreed between Jiangsu Suning and Shakhtar in the Ukraine. The Reds were not willing to pay this price, and neither were Chelsea, although Teixeira was excited to join Liverpool, so a move to China would be surprising.
However another Brazilian player, this from Chelsea, midfielder Ramires is another recent big name player to go to China. This Asian league is making waves with their lucrative transfers and signing on fees off late.
Other movers include Jackson Martinez at £32million to Guangzhou Evergrande from Atletico Madrid earlier this week.
Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu confirmed the deal, “We have agreed the sale of Alex Teixeira to China.
“But we will wait a bit to finalise it due to the situation with Luiz Adriano. But it’s all sorted on our side.”
One will have to wait to hear about an agreement with Teixeira personally.
