Liverpool central midfielder Joe Allen will no longer get regular playing time at Anfield and so he has opted to leave for another Premier League club.
Allen was also linked to Swansea and Celtic, but Stoke’s come in with a good offer of 13 million pounds and the Reds have accepted it.
The Welsh midfielder is undergoing a medical ahead of signing a contract with Stoke on Monday.
It marks the end of Allen’s four-year stay with Liverpool which saw him score seven goals in 132 appearances.
Liverpool actually haven’t signed another controlling midfielder. Instead they’ve brought in attacking midfielder Georginio Wynaldum to replace Allen, meaning that manager Jurgen Klopp always expected more from Allen in attacking areas.
Once Allen’s medical has been completed he will fly to Florida to link up with his new team-mates.
