Chelsea have been linked with a move for Brazil and Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira and the striker who is keen on heading to Stamford Bridge has now confirmed the approach from the Blues.
The 25-year-old’s goal rate is even better than free-scoring Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski, netting 18 goals in 12 league games so far in the current season as against Lewandowski’s 13 in ten league games.
Chelsea had already raided Shakhtar for one Brazilian in playmaker Willian and could return to the Ukrainian outfit for Teixeira in the New Year.
“I have an offer. It was a pleasure to know that Chelsea wants to sign me.
“It would be great if the transfer already happens in January.” Teixeira said as quoted on the Express.
The former Vasco da Gama man has shone this season scoring 16 times in 11 games, an average of a goal every 62 minutes.
Teixeira started his career at Vasco da Gama, playing for the youth team from 1999 to 2007. He was promoted to the senior team for the 2008 season.
The Chelsea target who made his debut for the Donetsk on 20 March 2010 after joining the club in December 2009 at the age of 19, Teixeira has gone on to score 63 goals in 143 league appearances for The Miners.
