Spanish giants Real Madrid are back to winning ways after whacking Levante 3 – 1 in the league match staged at the
For Real Madrid, the week did not start in great fashion as star striker Cristiano Ronaldo was forced to apologize for a bad statement he made in the thick of things as the club came to terms with the home loss to Atletico Madrid on Saturday 27 February.
Ronaldo netted the opener from the spot after Lucas Orban’s foul on Lucas Vasquez in the box. The Portuguese forward drilled the ball to the bottom corner and though Levante keeper went the right way, he could not keep it out and Real Madrid had a 34th minute lead.
Four minutes later Borja Mayoral, the 18 – year old, got the ball outside the penalty box and hit a fine effort which got the post and went in off the back of keeper Diego Marino, who was ‘credited’ with the own goal.
The ping pong manner in which the clash played out saw the hosts get back into the game after just 20 second of conceding. Giuseppe Rossi found Deyverson Bruma who was unmarked, ten yards outside and he made no mistake.
Isco wrapped it up on the final minute with the easiest of goals to ensure Real Madrid ran away with the three poiints.
