AFC Leopards head coach Ivan Minnaert was left fuming at the performance of the referee after his team lost 0 – 1 to Muhoroni Youth in the Saturday 14 May Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
Benjamin Mosha came off the bench to score the only goal for Muhoroni Youth and in the post match interviews, Minnaert riled at the referee’s performance, saying he gave made all the decisions against his team.
The coach also faulted his players for not making full use of the chances they got in the game as he went reflecting on a fifth straight winless outing.
“It is desperate sometimes in this game; the referee had a hand in the loss because he made all the calls against us including a handball in the box that he failed to award us and it is disappointing to lose again in this manner,” he said.
“I will however not blame the referee so much; my players also did not play so well in the match. We missed great chances that should have yielded goals and it is disappointing. We need to get strikers to help the team,” he said.
