Italian Claudio Ranieri is adamant that his Leicester City side with the like of Ahmed Musa, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez will beat Arsenal this weekend when both clash at the King Power Stadium despite their opening day defeat to Hull City.
The Foxes began the defense of their premier league title with a shock 2-1 defeat to the Tigers while the Gunners lost at home 3-4 to Liverpool.
However, Arsenal were the only side to beat them home and away last season but Raneiri is not fazed by the pedigree of Arsene Wenger’s men as he prepares his wards for an epic game on Saturday.
“We lost twice to Arsenal last season. We know they are a good team with a good manager, but we are ready,” Ranieri said.
“I watched Arsenal’s first match. They played very well in the first half, but then Liverpool scored three times in quick succession.
“Arsene Wenger is one of the best managers in the world for me. I have a lot of respect for him.
“We have to do everything right then accept what is our destiny. Our strength is the same. We have good spirit and work well on the training ground.
“We won’t change our mentality. We are strong and we believe. We know we have to work hard.”
Leicester City will be further boosted with the news that star player Riyad Mahrez has extended his contract with the club.
