Leicester City legend Gerry Taggart has shown admiration for the club record signing Ahmed Musa after watching the Nigerian dazzle on his Foxes debut.
The 23-year-old moved to the King Power Stadium this summer for a fee of £16m and showed class in his first game for Claudio Raneiri’s men as he helped the premier league champions to a 2-1 win against Oxford United in a pre-season friendly.
Taggart is already gushing about Musa’s ability on the pitch and believes that the former CSKA Moscow forward will be a handful to defenders in the premier league this season.
“Ahmed Musa’s shown some real pace already. What’s really impressive is his speed from a standing start. He’s up to full throttle in no time,” Gerry Taggart told Leicester City Radio.
Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi who plays alongside Musa for the Super Eagles of Nigeria earlier this week warned premier league defenders about the speed of new Leicester City signing Ahmed Musa.
“I have played with him and one thing I can tell you for sure is that this guy is fast,” Iwobi was quoted by Bleacher Report as saying.
“I think he can do well in England because he is exactly what you want in a winger, he will go past people and can cross the ball well.”
Musa scored 18 goals in all competitions for CSKA Moscow last season and will be in the scheme of things for the Foxes in the premier league as they bid to retain their title in the 2016/17 season.
