The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) table is taking shape as we approach the midway point and after the 14th week of action, champions Gor Mahia are just two points and a place away from the summit.
The champions beat Mathare United 2 – 0 on Sunday to move two slots up, taking advantage of league leaders Tusker FC’s slump when the Brewers were surprisingly held by Sony Sugar.
Posta Rangers too, got their winning touch going with a 1 – 0 win over the troubled Nairobi City Stars, condemning the Kawangware based side to their eighth loss of the season.
Out in Kakamega County, hosts Kakamega Homeboyz brought to an end Muhoroni Youth FC’s celebrations with a 2 – 1 beating.
In Machakos, Sofapaka, bottom of the table, were served their 11th loss of the season after going down 1 – 2 to Ulinzi Stars while AFC Leopards registered their seventh straight winless outing after going 1 – 2 down to Thika United in Thika.
Bandari FC were the biggest winners, claiming a massive 4 – 0 win over Ushuru FC in the duel at th Kasarani Stadium.
The only match on the weekend that saw no goals was the Chemelil Sugar versus Western Stima clash at Chemelil Sports Complex.
