Nairobi City Stars FC are on course for a massive escape from relegation after registering a second straight win in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) with the 1 – 0 victory over Ushuru FC in the Saturday 24 October league match at the Ruaraka Stadium.
The win for the Kawangware side was made even sweeter with the 0 – 2 loss inflicted on KCB at the hands of Ulinzi Stars at the Nairobi City Stadium. The mixed results for the two sides had ramifications, in that, while City Stars rose from the drop zone, KCB fell right in and heading to the final week, City Stars will only need to match KCB’s result to survive.
In the other matches played on the day, Bandari FC made a big leap with a 3 – 1 win over Western Stima at the Mombasa County Stadium. The result saw Bandari rise to the third place on the KPL log.
At the Moi Stadium, Kisumu, Muhoroni Youth had to rise from a goal down to register a 1 – 1 draw with AFC Leopards.
Four more matches are scheduled for Sunday 25 October.
