Gor Mahia and Muhoroni Youth have booked their tickets to the semi finals of the KPL Top 8 Cup after bagging wins in their Monday 2 May quarter final matches staged in the double header at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Muho were the first to sail through on the day after beating Sofapaka 3 – 0 in the 2pm EAT kickoff. Wycliffe Ochomo, Wellington Ochieng and Moses Arita scored a goal apiece to see the Nyanza based team advance to the semis for the first time in their history.
The last of the quarter final matches saw Gor Mahia register a slim and controversial 1 – 0 win over first timers Ushuru FC courtesy of Jacques Tuyisenge’s goal.
The two sides join Tusker FC and Ulinzi Stars who booked tickets for the last four after beating Bandari FC and AFC Leopards on Sunday 1 May.
