The 2016 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Top 8 Cup dates have been released with the quarter final matches scheduled to run on the Labour Day weekend, the first two being on Sunday 1 May and the remaining two the following day.
The quarter final stage is played in a knockout format with direct penalties in case of a tie on 90 minutes. The venues for the quarter finals will be communicated later.
The semi final stage is played on a home and away basis with the away goal rule applicable where there is a tie and post match penalties called in case of a compete tie.
The first legs of the semi final matches will be played on Saturday 28 May at venues to be communicated then the second legs will be played on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June with the final scheduled for Saturday 18 June.
The 2016 edition will have a new entrant in Ushuru FC while Muhoroni Youth will be making a second appearance in the tournament after their 2015 debut.
The other participants will be Gor Mahia, who alongside Tusker, will be seeking a record third title, AFC Leopards, Sofapaka, Ulinzi Stars, and Bandari FC.
