Nigerian midfielder Abbas Akinyemi is back in time for Muhoroni Youth FC’s second leg KPL Top 8 Cup semi final clash against Ulinzi Stars on Sunday 19 June at the Nyayo National Stadium. He will be joined in the team by Kennedy Rono, both having missed the first leg on Sunday 12 June.
Akinyemi was out on compassionate leave, as he was given time off following his mother’s death, which forced him to travel to Nigeria and the game came to soon for him while Rono was down with malaria at the time of the match but the coach has confirmed the two players are back in the team and termed it a boost.
The two are expected to start the game and the coach will be hoping to have a full team to choose from, save for the suspended Farouk Shikalo. He confirmed there were a few knocks from the first leg but nothing serious enough to rule anyone out.
“Rono has recovered from the illness that kept him out of the first leg and Abbas is back so we have a big boost there because they will be available for the match. There are a few knocks we picked but not serious enough to rule out any players.
“I have a full team available for me except for Shikalo who is suspended,” he said.
