Tusker held on to their lead in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) after beating bottom of the log side Sofapaka 1 – 0 in one of the KPL round 13 matches. Former Sofapaka man Anthony Ndolo returned to haunt his former side with the only goal that ensured the Brewers stay on course for their 11th league title.
In another big profile match of the weekend, Gor Mahia were 1 – 0 winners over Western Stima in the match staged in Kisumu at the Moi Stadium. Francis Kahata scored a late goal for the Green Army to see the champions rise to third place on the log.
In Mombasa, Mathare United returned to winning ways, beating hosts Bandari 1 – 0 to climb back to second place with a goal from Robinson Kamura.
In Nairobi, Ushuru FC saw off Kakamega Homeboyz 1 – 0 with Edwin Oduor scoring the only goal while Posta Rangers had their shimmer abandon them after going down 0 – 1 to visiting Chemelil Sugar.
At the Kisumu Stadium, AFC Leopards was condemned to yet another loss, going down to a late Benjamin Mosha goal as Muhoroni Youth bagged three points while Ulinzi Stars, out in Nakuru whacked City Stars 3 – 0.
Sony Sugar continued with their fine run, beating Thika United 1 – 0.
