The poor run is back for the reigning Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia; K’Ogalo were subjected to their second loss of the season by Tusker in the league match staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday 19 April.
Humphrey Mieno netted the only goal from a penalty after a tussle between Abouba Sibomana and Collins Shivachi to see Tusker beat the champions 1 – 0, delivering the first loss under Brazilian coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira and the second in the season for the club.
While Gor Mahia went down, Sony Sugar celebrated their first win of the season in a 1 – 0 victory over Chemelil Sugar at the Awendo Green Stadium. Justin Monda scored the lone goal that had the Awendo side claim the bragging rights.
In Mombasa, Bandari FC failed to make use of home advantage after they were held to a 1 – 1 draw by Posta Rangers. The Dockers were forced to come from a goal down after Joseph Nyaga’s opener for Rangers.
Edwin Lavatsa came off the bench to get the equalizer.
The only match on the day that ended goalless was the Muhoroni Youth versus Western SAtima clash at the Muhoroni Stadium.
