Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia continued with the rise up the league standings with a well worked 2 – 0 win over Muhoroni Youth in one of the matches played across the country.
George Odhiambo netted the opener for the champions in the first half before Rwandan international Jacques Tuyisenge continued with his prolific form with a goal to wrap it up and see Gor Mahia go third on the log.
In the other matches, Sofapaka was served yet another setback with a 1 – 0 beating by Sony Sugar at the Machakos County Stadium. The only goal of the game, which saw Sony Sugar rise from the relegation region, was scored by Samuel Olare.
Meanwhile, at the Chemelil Sports Complex, hosts Chemelil Sugar came from a goal down to hold Bandari to a 1 – 1 draw. David Kingatua scored the opening goal in the game to give Bandari a first half lead before David Ojuang leveled matters in the second half.
In the only match of the day that had no goals, hosts Nairobi City Stars managed to bring to an end a four match losing streak after playing to a barren draw with Ushuru FC at the Kasarani Stadium.
Three more matches will be played on Sunday.
