Reigning champions Gor Mahia faltered once again as they look to put a foothold in the 2016 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) campaign.
The champions got a second minute lead through Enoch Agwanda and the lead stood until the 95th minute when substitute Gershom Likono scored with a low shot after a mixup in the Gor Mahia defence, to see the tie end in a 1 – 1 draw.
After managing a barren draw in their opening clash with Chemelil Sugar, Gor Mahia now have two points from as many matches.
Earlier, at the same venue, Nyayo Stadium, Mathare United got their first win of the season in a 1 – 0 victory inspired by Daniel Mwaura’s first half goal.
In Mombasa, Bandari FC beat newcomers Kakamega Homeboyz 2 – 0 with goals from new signings Bernard Mangoli and Edwin Lavatsa.
The other match of the day saw Western Stima play host to Nairobi City Stars at the Kisumu Stadium and came out 2 – 0 winners.
Baron Jobita and Francis Ocholla got the goals for the Power Men.
