The 2009 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Sofapaka suffered yet another defeat, going down 0 – 1 at home to Bandari FC in the clash staged at the Machakos County Stadium on Sunday 13 March.
Sofapaka started the match well, compared to their other outings and were holding the Dockers to a barren draw until a former Sofapaka man, Musa Mudde struck late in the second half.
In the other matches played on the same day, Tusker FC twice came from behind to hold Ushuru FC to a 2 – 2 draw at the Machakos Stadium in the first of a double header at the venue.
At the Nyayo National Stadium, the AFC Leopards momentum was put in check by a bogey Chemelil Sugar side, playing to a 1 – 1 draw and seeing new coach Ivan Minnaert concede for the first time since joining the team.
Allan Kateregga scored the Leopards goal before Dennis Onkangi leleved.
Out in Thika, Thika United suffered yet another loss, going down 0 – 1 to Mathare United with Ndege Obadiah getting the only goal to see Mathare United go joint top with AFC Leopards.
The league takes a two week break until 30 March to give the national team ample time for international assignments.
