Kenyan international Victor Wanyama will be suspended when his team, Southampton takes on Sunderland in the Barclays Premier League clash on Saturday 7 November at the Stadium of Light but managed Ronald Koeman is confident he can find good replacement.
Wanyama was sent off on Sunday 1 November in his team’s game against AFC Bournemouth and will thus be out of the weekend match and Koeman, speaking of the incident, noted that the midfielder should have been more careful in his tackle that brought the second yellow card.
“You know if you have already a yellow if you take a tackle or a sliding then you put some risk in that tackle and if you touch the player it’s a yellow.
“Yeah, we know if one can’t play next weekend we have very good competition and it’s always a difficult decision to put the first eleven on the board and we have good players to play on that position of Victor,” he told the club’s official website.
Despite the sending off Southampton held on and won the game 2 – 0.
