Southampton, home to Kenyan international Victor Wanyama suffered yet another loss, a 0 – 1 reverse at the hands of Crystal Palace in the English Premier League clash on Saturday 12 December.
In the wake of the loss, the club’s manager Ronald Koeman says he was disappointed at the result but lauded his charges for a good output, noting that they needed a little bit of luck on the day, which was not forthcoming.
The weather as well worked against the Saints in the game, as he puts it on the club’s Youtube channel but he is hopeful of better tidings in the future engagements.
“Disappointed about the final result, but not about our performance. I think we played well, we had some difficulties in the beginning with the wind – it was a fighting match today, there was not really a lot of ball possession football.
“Maybe in the beginning we had some problems because they are a team who is more direct than we are, but after a difficult start in the game I think we dominated the game.
“One-nil down, in my opinion a defensive mistake that we had to close more the gaps between our defenders and they punished us for that, but the second half was good,” he said.
