Tanzanian giants Simba SC have the all clear now to field Kenyan international Paul Mungai Kiongera after acquiring the midfielder’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) following his move from KCB, who were relegated from the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) in the 2015 season.
Kiongera was signed by Simba on a two year deal in 2014 but was loaned back to KCB as he recovered from a knee surgery and the team’s head of Technical Committee Hans Poppe confirms he will be available for selection after the acquisition of the document.
However, the club cannot pick on another newly signed player, Brian Majwegga who recently joined from Azam FC as his other former team KCCA of Uganda has laid a claim to his transfer fee, kicking off a dispute as regards his move.
“We have the ITC for Kiongera and thus he is available for selection. As for Majwegga, we have to wait because to our understanding, we signed him from Azam FC and not KCCA who have disputed the signing until we reach an agreement that they stand to benefit from his transfer,” he told Tanzanian site, Bin Zubeiry.
Kiongera played 17 matches for the relegated KCB in 2015, scoring 11 goals.
