Tusker FC head coach Francis Kimanzi was brought down to earth by an inspired Muhoroni Youth side that thumped his side 3 – 2 in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) game staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Friday 2 October.
Tusker have now gone for seven league games without a win and speaking after the match, the coach noted that simple mistakes were to blame for the defeat and castigated his players for an insipid show when it mattered most.
“We had simple mistakes in the game that I think we should have avoided and that cost us dearly; in the end we have to reflect about yet another loss.
“We had the chance to win this game late on but we could not deliver when it mattered most. We exposed ourselves so much to counter attacks and it is disappointing to lose again,” he said.
Tusker FC’s hopes now lie in the Top 8 Cup where they meet Gor Mahia in a two legged semi final and the GOtv Shield.
