The 2008 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Mathare United head coach Francis Kimanzi will be gunning for a win when he leads his charges to Mombasa to face off with Bandari FC in the Sunday 15th May league clash.
The team has not won any of their last three matches, only picking draws, the latests being the 2 – 2 result against Western Stima and heading to the weekend Kimanzi hopes his charges can relax well and go for a win in the match.
Against Stima his players battled from two goals down to pick a point and he notes that the early concession cost his side so going to Mombasa, that is one area he will be keen to work on.
“That will be an interesting game because also playing away there are different tactics that you employ and it is a more relaxed approach and we will not have the anxiety we had in the beginning of the Western Stima match.
“In this game ( against Stima) the first goal really cost us because we had to start chasing the game and from a counter we were caught out again for the second goal but what I saw at the end of the match was good and shows we can deal with that threat of playing away. We are ready for it,” he said.
The three straight draws have seen the team drop to second spot on the KPL log.
