Bongani Khumalo has been released by SuperSport United, six months after joining.
The 28-year-old rejoined Matsatsantsa in July 2015 and appeared in 10 games during the first half of the season.
The club and the player had an option to release Khumalo in January 2016 and, after discussions between the parties following Khumalo’s lack of game time recently, it was agreed to part ways.
Stan Matthews, the SuperSport United chief executive officer said: “Bongani is a consummate professional.
“He was unhappy at not getting game time in recent matches, we as a club can also not afford to have a big player like him sitting on the bench so we agreed to let him go and explore his options, we wish him all the best.”
Khumalo can now join the team of his choice.
