After a month long break the Kenya Premier League (KPL) will resume for the second leg of the 2016 season, starting on Saturday 2 July, with matches scheduled to run until Sunday 3 July in venues across the country.
In the Saturday fixtures, Sofapaka will be taking on Western Stima in Machakos, Ushuru FC will at the Nyayo Stadium taking on Sony Sugar before paving way for Mathare United to host Ulinzi Stars at the same venue.
Still on Saturday Nairobi City Stars will be at the Kasarani Stadium hosting Muhoroni Youth as Chemelil Sugar takes on AFC Leopards in Kisumu while Kakamega Homeboyz will host Bandari FC in Mumias.
On Sunday Tusker FC will be in Machakos to take on Posta Rangers while champions Gor Mahia will travel to Thika to play Thika United.
Two players will not be cleared to feature for their teams; Ushuru FC midfielder Philemon Otieno will be ineligible when the Taxmen host Sony Sugar. The same will apply to Thika United defender Vincent Nyaberi who will have to sit out the game against Gor Mahia.
The two have accumulated five yellow cards each, drawn from the first leg, thus the suspensions.
Gor Mahia goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch who had been slapped with a one match ban will be cleared to face Thika United after serving the suspension in the team’s Top 8 Cup matches in May.
