The CECAFA Senior Challenge defending champions Harambee Stars will be looking to have a successful defence of their title in 2015 when the tournament is held in Ethiopia and the organizers have confirmed it has been moved from Bahar Dar to Addis Ababa.
Initially listed to be held in Bahar Dar, the CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye noted that it has been moved due to logistical reasons and promised an entertaining tournament.
He further revealed that all the members have confirmed participation and thus there will be no guest teams invited.
“We have all in place for the tournament and I want to confirm that we will have it in Addis and not Bahar Dar. It was moved to enable us handle logistics better and I can assure plans are in place for a very entertaining tournament.
“There will also be no guest teams invited this time round because all the members have confirmed participating,” he said.
The tournament was last held in 2013 in Kenya, with Harambee Stars beating Sudan 2 – 0 in the final in Nairobi.
